Area youth can compete in the annual Aquafina® Pitch, Hit & Run™ competition as The Rockford Thunder hosts a local competition on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Thunder Park, 5444 Swanson Road, Roscoe, Illinois.  Registration begins at 10:00 AM at the park with competion beginning at 11:00 AM.  For questions concerning the competition, please contact the Thunder office at (815) 965-7000 or for more information, visit the Rockford Thunder website.

The Rockford Thunder will accept registration for open tryouts until May 6, 2009.  Tryouts will be held May 9, 2009 from 11:00am - 4:00 pm and on May 10, 2009 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at Thunder Park, 5444 Swanson Rd., Roscoe, IL.  For more information click here to access the Rockford Thunder website.

A Grand Opening for the new Disc Golf Course at Porter Park located at McDonald & Swanson Roads in Roscoe is planned for Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:30 PM.  Some of the free activities will include:  Disc Golf lessons, Roscoe YMCA will host water games and face painting, Roscoe Police Department will conduct car seat and seat belt checks, Harlem Roscoe Fire Department will have their Smokehouse, Roscoe Culver’s will feature an appearance by Scoopie, and Brent’s Bouncin’ Inflatables will provide an Obstacle Course.  The Rockford Thunder will also have some players appearing at the event.  Here is a copy of the event flier in PDF format Roscoe Disc Golf Grand Opening.  Not familiar with Disc Golf?
